Jackson Wang is a Chinese singer-songwriter, record producer, fashion designer, and music video director.
In addition to being the founder of the record label Team Wang, he also serves as Team Wang Design’s creative director and chief designer. Wang became well-known after joining the K-pop boy band Got7 of JYP Entertainment in 2014.
When the K-Pop group GOT7 announced last year that it was quitting JYP Entertainment, the business it had been exclusively associated with since 2014, fans of the group received some depressing news.
Since the group declared that it would concentrate on single careers, many fans were left wondering if this was the end of the group for good.
Is Jackson Wang Still In GOT7?
GOT’s Jackson Wang is still a part of it after GOT7’s homecoming to the K-pop scene in May 2022 marked the group’s first visit about a year and a half after disbanding.
The septet themselves referred to their comeback as “a miracle” when they were assembled at a hotel in Seoul that afternoon for a press conference promoting their new album, “GOT7.”
Jackson Wang & the other members of GOT7 left JYP Entertainment after the band split in January 2021, having spent seven years with the firm.
Fans of the band had been speculating on the mistreatment of GOT7 by JYP Entertainment for a while. After the end of the contract, the seven members all went their separate ways.
However, the boys have decided to be back with GOT7. GOT7 is back to fulfilling fans’ promises and demonstrating that they have never been apart.
The band held a fan-only concert, “GOT7 Homecoming 2022 FanCon,” over the weekend in anticipation of their reunion. They were reunited with their fans after more than a year since their last concert, held online during the viral outbreak in 2020.
What Happened To GOT7?
After their contract expired, GOT7 split up, and the members began concentrating on their solo musical careers.
The 35th Golden Disc Awards were the members’ final group outing, and they tweeted their final selfie with the hashtag # GOT7FOREVER.
Kim Yugyeom joined AOMG, a hip-hop and R&B label representing Lee Hi, Punchnello, Gray, Loco, Woo Won-Jae, and many other artists.
However, they couldn’t stay without working as a team for a long time and decided to collaborate again as promised.
Even though the act’s reunion as a whole after splitting from its former label, JYP Entertainment, is a near miracle given that all seven members are now associated with various agencies and pursuing their respective careers, the members insist that it was not unexpected.
Where Is Jackson Wang Now?
Jackson Wang started developing his label after the dissolution of the GOT7. Since then, Team Wang has been conducting his international business.
The Sublime agency has signed Team Wang and Youngjae. Along with Sublime Agency, Team Wang has a partnership with them.
He made his Chinese single, “Alone,” which he published. He played “LMLY,” his most recent English single, at the Harper’s Bazaar Fashion Icons Party, where he was honored as “Musician of the Year.”
Wang was named in Tatler Hong Kong Asia’s Most Influential People in Culture in June 2021 and placed in the top 10 on the Forbes China Celebrity 100 list.
Wang announced the formation of the hip-hop ensemble Panthepack, along with rappers Ice, J.Sheon, and Karencici, as a part of his label Team Wang in August 2021. The Pack, their 10-track first album, was released after the release of their single “Buzz.”
Recently, in 2022, he performed an hour-long spectacle at Rajamangala Stadium to kick off the Manchester United vs. Liverpool football game.
Wang received multiple accolades in 2021, including “Best Male Artist of the Year,” “Most Influential Male Singer in Asia,” and “Best Original Music Award” for the song “Alone.”
After they have decided to be back with GOT7, we will again see him as a part of the band.
