Bryan Cook is a safety in American football who competes for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL).
Cook was born in Mount Healthy, Ohio on September 7, 1999, and attended Mount Healthy High School. In nine games of high school football, he recorded 35 tackles, three interceptions, and a fumble recovery. He also caught four passes for 110 yards and three offensive touchdowns, which helped him earn a spot on the first team of the Southwest Ohio Conference as a senior.
Cook chose to play collegiate football at Howard University after accepting the school’s one scholarship offer because he was not much recruited following high school. After his sophomore year, he transferred from Howard to the University of Cincinnati, where he is presently a student, using the NCAA transfer website.
In accordance with NCAA transfer rules, he missed the regular season in his first season with the Cincinnati Bearcats. During his senior year, he recorded 96 tackles, five tackles for loss, one sack, nine passes broken up, and two tackles for loss, earning him a berth on the American Athletic Conference’s first team. The Kansas City Chiefs selected him with the 62nd overall pick in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
