A successful American businessman, producer of movies, and owner of the National Football League’s Philadelphia Eagles is Jeffrey Robert Lurie (NFL). On September 8, 1951, he was born. Lurie received a B.A. from Clark University, an M.A. in psychology from Boston University, and a Ph.D. in social policy from Brandeis University’s Heller School for Social Policy and Management.
His doctoral dissertation examined how women are portrayed in Hollywood movies. Despite having Jewish parents, Lurie has decided not to pursue Judaism as an adult. Due to his association with General Cinema, which started purchasing bottling businesses in the late 1960s, including a Pepsi facility, Lurie has a solid background in business.
Over time, General Cinema changed into Harcourt General Inc., a multi-billion dollar corporation with a global presence and a workforce of over 23,700. At its peak, Harcourt General Inc. owned publishing companies, insurance firms, and the fourth-largest chain of movie theaters in the United States in addition to a prestigious international consulting business.
In 1984, Lurie bought a small portion of Carter Hawley Hale, the tenth-largest clothing retailer in the US at the time and home to brands including Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman-Marcus.
