Alicia Silverstone appeared in three more films in 1995, in addition to Clueless. She played the love interest of a French lad in Le Nouveau Monde, a French drama about Americans.
In the cinematic adaptation of Dean Koontz’s novel Hideaway, she also plays the daughter of a guy who is revived after dying in a car accident.
She also appeared in Guy Ferland’s B-movie sensual thriller The Babysitter, which was based on Robert Coover’s short tale.
The next year, Silverstone acted as a Catholic school student on the hunt for the murderer of two adolescent girls in the direct-to-video thriller True Crime. She later portrayed Barbara Gordon/Batgirl in Batman & Robin (1997).
The picture had a $160 million budget but only grossed $238 million worldwide, and it was panned by reviewers who viewed it as one of the worst films ever made.
Silverstone received a Razzie Award for Worst Supporting Actress, but also a Blimp Award for the same role at the Kid’s Choice Awards.
