How do you stop RED-S?
Parents can play a significant role in preventing RED-S. First, educate your daughters on the energy demands of their training and the interconnected relationship of proper nutrition, bone health and menstruation, as well as risk of injury and impaired training from insufficient consumption.
How many people have Reds?

Having these shortages is especially common in younger men who may be exercising a lot or weight lifting, or in older men who are not eating enough or are having issues with malnutrition.
How do I know if I have Reds?
Symptoms of RED-S can include anything from a drop in libido, a drop in serotonin levels, changes in bowel habit (often misdiagnosed as symptoms of IBS), finding yourself more prone to injury, lowered immune function and not being able to train and perform at the level you once could.
