Nigel Olsson is still performing at concerts. On November 9, 2014, Olsson marked his 2000th concert with Elton John, a testament to the enduring partnership that has defined both musicians’ careers.
Fast forward to February 10, 2017, when Olsson celebrated his 68th birthday by playing his 2,267th concert alongside Elton John at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. These milestones not only showcase Olsson’s dedication but also underscore the longevity of their musical collaboration.
June 25, 2023, stands out as another significant date in Olsson’s recent endeavors. On this day, he once again took the stage with Elton John, headlining the Glastonbury Festival. The festival, renowned for hosting legendary performances, provided yet another platform for Olsson to showcase his drumming expertise and contribute to the magic of Elton John’s live shows.
While the stage remains a familiar and cherished domain for Olsson, the drummer has also ventured into solo projects and collaborations outside the Elton John Band. In 2001, he released a solo album titled “Move The Universe” on 81 Records. The album featured contributions from notable musicians, including Davey Johnstone and Guy Babylon, and showcased Olsson’s versatility as a musician.
