Timothy Wiltsey’s murder case against his mother is still ongoing. Dateline NBC will examine the case in its upcoming episode.
Timothy Wiltsey, a five-year-old New Jersey boy, was killed. In a brand-new Dateline episode, his story will be told. It has been scheduled to air on NBC at 9 p.m. on Friday, April 29.
What Happened To Timothy Wiltsey?
On May 25, 1991, Timothy Wiltsey was killed. After a year, his remains were recovered in April 1992. He was placed in a marshy creek in Raritan Center in Edison.
Michelle Lodzinski, his mother, was convicted guilty of the murder after a two-decade inquiry. She was found guilty of first-degree murder and given a 30-year sentence.
She was, however, released from her charges in late December 2021. She had been serving her term at Hunterdon County’s Edna Mahan Correctional Facility until then. After the court ruling, she has declared a free woman because her DNA was never discovered in her son’s skeleton.
The Tragic Unsolved Murder Mystery Of Timothy Wiltsey In Detail
Timothy Wiltsey was living with his mother in their home in South Amboy.
It was Lodzinski who had reported about her son’s missing after she said that she lost at a carnival on the Memorial weekend. Authorities had searched him, however, we’re unable to locate him. It was after a year in April 1992, that his skull and bones were found in a creek.
Interestingly, Lodzinski worked in the Raritan Center in Edison, where Wiltsey’s skeletons were found. However, no traces of his mother’s DNA were found ar the spot. The boy’s blanket, discovered alongside his body, was the state’s only substantial piece of evidence. Although, it was not enough to prove her criminality.
Another thing is when Wiltsey went missing, his mother took a vacation to the Bahamas. This showed her no feeling towards her son’s funeral or the case itself. In fact, she still claims that she never killed her son.
Yet another confusing thing about the case is that no pieces of evidence were found in their home. Likewise, the close ones and neighbors had never found Wiltsey being abused by his mother or anything.
All these circumstances have made the case very confusing even after 30 years of investigation. Meanwhile, the death of an innocent young boy has still disturbed the citizens of New Jersey.
Unfortunately, no one knows how or who killed Timothy Wiltsey, who was only five years old at the time.
