Otto Warmbier Confession Video Details
Otto confessed that he attempted to steal the propaganda poster from the Yanggakdo Hotel to take home; he revealed going to a restricted staff-only area of the same hotel.
The photograph included the saying Let’s arm ourselves strongly with Kim Jong-il’s patriotism! in the Korean language, and stealing or damaging items with the North Korean leader’s name/image is considered a serious crime by the North Korean government.
However, some believe that the confession might have been unwilling as he returned home in a vegetative state and never regained consciousness after returning from North Korea. So, people thought he confessed under duress as a former prisoner of North Korea revealed the proclamation they made was involuntary.
Furthermore, in the disclosure video, the late college student indicated that he abandoned the poster after discovering he couldn’t carry it away as it was too large. Moreover, his arrest and punishment were outrageous and shocking, and the North Korean seem to have busted him for political purposes despite their claims to the contrary.
