A young lady passed away after being set on fire on a city bus last month. She is identified as Nyima Dolma, whose parents lived in the Indian Tibetan Refugee Settlement of Mundgod.

Toronto police have identified the lady who was set on fire on a municipal bus last month and later died in the hospital as Nyima Dolma. She passed away last week due to the attack on June 17.
At about 12:25 p.m. at Kipling Station, close to Kipling Avenue and Dundas Avenue West, a random man set her on fire. When the emergency personnel came, the fire was put out, but the victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Sunny Brook hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, a suspect named Tenzin Norbu was detained nearby and accused of several offenses, including attempted murder. Police clarified that the young woman and her attacker had no prior contact and suspected the attack was motivated by hate as it was random.
Norbu was initially charged with attempted murder and accused of aggravated assault with a weapon, public nuisance threatening lives and safety, and mischief over $5,000, causing property interference.
However, following Nyima’s death, the charges were upgraded on Monday, and now he is charged with first-degree murder, reports Cbc.ca.

What Is Nyima Doma Death Cause?
Nyima Dolma died of her injuries after she was set on fire on June 17. She had been hospitalized since the incident and took her last breath on July 5, 2022.
Although her cause of death is not officially released, it is believed that her injuries were the reason. The attacker allegedly poured something liquid on the victim and lit it on fire.
The suspect appeared in court through a video link on Monday morning. Further information on the case is yet to be updated.

The family has requested privacy while they process Dolma’s passing. Therefore, the cremation will take place at St. John’s Dixie Crematorium at 737 Dundas St. East Mississauga, ON L4Y 2B5 on Friday, July 15, 2022, at 12.30 p.m.
