NBC: What Happened To Mike Tirico And Why Did He Leave The Olympics?
As discussed above, Mike’s plan to stay in Beijing has taken a different direction.
According to some reports, Tirico did not want to miss Super Bowl.
Since he did not get a chance to attend the previous Super Bowl because of his preparation for his first Olympics as a primetime host in Pyeongchang, South Korea, he could not miss it this time.
Further, his schedule was subject to change based on COVID-19 and other factors.
Mike intentionally used the word “Genocide” multiple times during his hosting in the initial two days of the Olympics. Further, he criticized the Chinese attacks on pro-democracy protesters in Hong Kong, backed by the term “sports washing” in front of the audiences listening to him.
