Following his tenure with Limp Bizkit, Smith took an unexpected turn, choosing to plant new creative roots and explore alternative avenues in the realm of rock.
Settling into the eclectic city of Baltimore, Smith co-founded the alternative rock band Evolver, a project that would become a canvas for his artistic reinvention. Collaborating with longtime friend Anthony Grabowski, who assumed the role of drummer, Smith surprised many by deciding to not only wield the guitar but also step into the spotlight as the band’s lead vocalist.
The decision to take on both roles—guitarist and lead vocalist—is a testament to Smith’s artistic versatility and a departure from his earlier role in Limp Bizkit. Evolver, with Smith at the helm, emerged as a fresh sonic entity, embracing alternative rock influences and showcasing a musical evolution that resonated with audiences in the vibrant Baltimore music scene.
