Authorities say a 43-year-old man died Wednesday morning after allegedly drowning in Diversey Harbor. However, the formal cause of death of the demised soul has yet to be confirmed.
The deceased guy was identified as Luis Alberto Davila Vera of the 1000 block of West 15th Street by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
An autopsy was scheduled for Thursday to identify the cause and manner of death.
After the news regarding the man’s death was released on news platforms, many were curious to learn more about the case.
What Happened To Luis Alberto Davila Vera?
Luis Davila, 43, was with a group of individuals on the 2600 block of North Cannon Drive early Wednesday when he tripped and fell into the lake.
Early Wednesday, a man died after being rescued from Lake Michigan near Diversey Harbor.
Davila, 43, was with a group of individuals around the 2600 block of North Cannon Drive at 5 a.m. Later that same day, he tripped and fell into the river, according to Chicago police and fire authorities.
The man did not emerge, and the firefighters rescued him shortly after they arrived.
Luis was sent to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was declared dead. Aside from that, not much has been known about the case.
So far this year, at least 33 individuals have drowned in Lake Michigan, according to the report released by Great Lakes Surf Rescue Project.

On Wednesday morning, a 43-year-old man named Luis Alberto Davila Vera died after presumably drowning in Diversey Harbor.
Near 5:02 a.m., Vera and many other people slipped and fell into the water at the Lincoln Park port. However, Luis was unable to escape and died.
The soul was transported by ambulance to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was declared dead at 5:54 a.m., according to police.
Vera’s family and friends may be grieving at the moment. Therefore the formal obituary may not have been issued.
Despite this, Luis was not the only one who perished in the ocean. There were a few more dead bodies that were removed later wads.
