What Happened To Linda Evangelista?

On September 22, 2021, Linda Evangelista took to Instagram to disclose that a popular fat reduction cosmetic procedure left her permanently deformed.

She started her post by addressing her followers and went on to explain why she disappeared from the public eye.

She underwent a routine fat reduction procedure called CoolSculpting five years ago to reduce the fat cells in her face. However, the procedure did the exact opposite and increased her fat cells instead.

The procedure uses cold temperatures to reduce fat deposits in certain areas of the body. But she was unaware of the risk associated with it, as per BBC.

As a side effect of the procedure, she developed Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia (PAH), which has left her unrecognizable. She underwent two painful and unsuccessful corrective surgeries.

She further added that the side effect destroyed her livelihood and sent her into a cycle of profound sadness and depression.

At the end of her post, she suggested she would be suing the company responsible for her condition. She also mentioned her intention of moving forward by going public with her story.
