Patrick Frazee was sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of murdering his partner Kelsey Berreth in Colorado, USA, in 2018.
Kelsey Berreth is a mother from Colorado, who went missing from her home last Thanksgiving. It was later revealed that her fiancé, Patrick Frazee, allegedly murdered her with a baseball bat and burned her remains to hide the evidence.
Krystal Lee, formerly known as Kenney, testified that Frazee told her how he murdered her and what Berreth’s final words were as the two discuss her death.

Kelsey Berreth was beaten to death with a baseball bat on Thanksgiving Day 2018 by his fiancé Patrick Frazee. She was shopping at Safeway in Woodland Park, Colorado on November 22, 2018.
She texted her fiancé Frazee to let him know she had purchased sweet potatoes for a casserole and had left the store with a few other goods. This was the last time anyone saw Berreth alive.
It wasn’t until December 1st that her mother became concerned. Berreth was reported missing, and a countrywide hunt for the young mother started.
Woodland Park Police had not officially named a suspect at the time in early December. Frazee was arrested for Berreth’s murder on December 23.
Patrick Frazee filed a not guilty plea, but detectives had concerns about his account from the outset. Beginning with his allegation that Kelsey informed him she wanted to break up and “go their separate ways” the day before Thanksgiving.
But the next day, she was out shopping for the family meal.
Another major concern for investigators was when Frazee said he last saw Kelsey. Patrick informed police he hadn’t seen her since Thanksgiving, November 22nd, when he swapped their daughter Kaylee Berreth.
Frazee and Kelsey are seen at her door with a baby carrier after Kelsey returns from the shop in footage from a neighbor’s surveillance camera on that Thanksgiving Day. She is shown clutching a poinsettia. Frazee is later seen alone in the same area.
Investigators uncovered a lot of materials that lead us to believe the incident took place at Kelsey’s house. Frazee told detectives that he transported his daughter Kaylee to his ranch for Thanksgiving dinner without Kelsey, although her mobile phone was found with him.
They obtained mobile phone data and discovered that on that day, Kelsey’s phone and Patrick’s phone began traveling together. Patrick and Kelsey, on the other hand, were not together.
However, the case took a turn after Frazee’s ex-girlfriend Krystal Lee was called for interrogation. Lee stated that on Thanksgiving, she received a call from Frazee, who informed her that there was a mess at Berreth’s house that she needed to clean up.
She said in court that she discovered blood on the windowsill, kitchen appliances, and plush animals. Lee stated that she started cleaning the house because she did not want Berreth’s mother or daughter to know what had transpired.
Lee claimed that she purposefully left little patches of blood about the house in the hopes that investigators would see them.
Later that day, Lee visited with Frazee, who reportedly revealed how he murdered Berreth. Frazee testified that he blindfolded Berreth with a sweatshirt and had her sniff candles and guess the aroma. He then used a baseball bat to hit Berreth in the head.
Kesley Berreth’s Fiance Patrick Frazee Was Arrested And Charged For Her Murder
Kesley Berreth’s fiance Patrick Frazee was arrested on December 23 on the charge of first-degree murder of her. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of release after a jury found him guilty of murdering his fiancée with a baseball bat in Nov 2019.
And set the woman’s corpse on fire to conceal the evidence, according to the USA today.
After prosecutors had earlier chosen not to pursue the death penalty, a court sentenced him to life in prison plus 156 years, the statutory punishment.
Judge Scott Sells told Frazee, “Your acts were violent, thoughtless, and without justification or explanation.”
According to prosecutors, Frazee, 33, murdered Kelsey Berreth, a 29-year-old flight instructor and the mother of their 1-year-old son, at her house.
On Thanksgiving Day 2018, she was last seen with her baby daughter in a grocery store video. Her corpse was never discovered.
Frazee had no emotion toward the ruling, although Berreth’s family wailed and hugged.
With little tangible evidence, prosecutors relied mainly on Krystal Lee’s testimony, a former nurse who has known Frazee for over a decade. And the whereabouts of Frazee’s and Berreth’s smartphones in the days after her disappearance.
Lee, of Hansen, Idaho, testified that Frazee requested her to clean up the crime scene and that she saw him burn a plastic tote she thought held Berreth’s remains.
Lee said that she brought Berreth’s cellphone to Idaho at Frazee’s instruction in order to confuse investigators regarding Berreth’s location. She agreed to a plea agreement with prosecutors and now faces up to three years in jail for tampering with evidence.
Frazee’s attorneys used the plea agreement to challenge Lee’s honesty about what transpired because she first told investigators she didn’t know who Berreth was.
Where Is Kelsey Berreth’s Killer And Her Family Today?
Patrick Frazee, Kesley Berreth’s murderer, is presently serving a life sentence plus 156 years in jail, the maximum penalty. Her family was relieved that the murderer who brutally murdered and burnt their daughter was finally punished.
Kelsey’s mother, Cheryl Berreth, testified in a letter that Frazee beat her daughter to death and left her baby granddaughter to “cry out for mama in the middle of the night.”
“He chose a dreadful death for our daughter, his child’s mother,” she stated.
In a 2020 episode of NBC’s ‘Dateline,’ Berreth’s family expresses for the first time their sadness and fury over her murder. As well as their conflicting feelings regarding Frazee’s lover Kenney’s role in the inquiry that led to his conviction.
Scott Morin, Berreth’s uncle, speaks out about Kenney, telling NBC News’ Andrea Canning, ‘Part of me wants to strangle her.’ Part of me wishes I could embrace her… I want to choke her for not being able to prevent this from occurring in the first place.
‘However, she eventually confessed. And I want to embrace her for it. ‘And please thank her,’ he says, according to Daily Mail.
