Dr. Archana Sharma was a female doctor from Rajasthan, India, who committed suicide this week.
She was hit with accusations of medical negligence and murder charges after her patient died due to medical complications. Her patient was a pregnant woman who passed away after Postpartum hemorrhage (also called PPH).
Dr. Sharma and her husband were booked under the Indian law IPC 302 (murder) for the lady’s death. Unable to bear the accusations, Sharma took her life by hanging.

Justice for Dr. Archana Sharma’s term has started to flood many social media discussions after the suicide note of the late Dr. Sharma went viral.
In the note, she wrote that she loves her husband and children and does not bother them after her death. Dr. Archana Sharma further wrote that she did not make any medical negligence and PPH is a known complication for which a doctor is not responsible.
She lastly appealed to people to stop harassing innocent doctors and stated that she hopes her death proves her innocence.
PPH complications are a serious but rare medical condition when a woman has heavy bleeding after giving birth. It usually happens within one day of giving birth and sometimes claims the victim’s life.
In Sharma’s case, her late patient also suffered the same fate. After the death, the patient’s husband and family created a ruckus in the hospital, accusing the doctor of medical negligence.
Not only this, the husband went on to file an FIR against Dr. Archana Sharma and her husband for the reason.

As Sharma’s death has hit the national headlines, Dr. Suneet has come forward to explain the situation and took a few names of local politicians of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to instigate the whole crisis that led to his wife’s death.
