What Happened To Anna Beninati? Train Accident In Colorado And Lost A Leg

In September of 2011 in Longmont, Anna Beninati, 18, of Sandy, Utah, was attempting to board the 18mph train with three male friends while studying music therapy at Colorado State University in Fort Collins.

However, the student, who had already hopped on the train almost a dozen times, slid and fell beneath its steel wheels as she attempted to board, and her legs were crushed beneath the 118-car train. Only a few inches of her left leg and half of her right leg remain.

According to the Longmont Times-Call, she stated, “I remember looking down at my leg dragging on the ground and seeing how fast the wheels were moving and how fast the rails were going past.”
