What Happened To Andrew Marr?
In the middle of a significant organizational restructuring at the BBC, Andrew Marr has announced his departure after 21 years there, 16 of which he spent as anchor of the BBC Sunday morning show.
He claimed that he intended to focus on writing, producing, and presenting political and cultural programs for the worldwide media organization and writing for newspapers. He looked forward to expressing himself more freely outside the BBC’s rigorous impartiality requirements.
Although Marr is thought to have been in discussions with Global for some time, the BBC employees had assumed he would stay for another two years.
His departure resulted from BBC executives playing musical chairs with distinguished journalists and broadcasters to fill unfilled slots. Sarah Smith, the Scotland editor, will take over as BBC North America editor after Jon Sopel returns from Washington, DC.

Where Is British Journalist Andrew Marr Now?
Andrew Marr announced on Twitter on November 19 last year that he would “move on” from the BBC.
Personal announcement. After 21 years, I have decided to move on from the BBC.l leave behind many happy memories and wonderful colleagues. But from the New Year I am moving to Global to write and present political and cultural shows, and to write for newspapers

He told the 208,000 people in the room that he would leave behind “many happy memories and amazing colleagues.” He made his last appearance on the Andrew Marr Show on December 19.
Andrew Marr, 62, is on track to begin an entirely new career. Since announcing his departure from the BBC last year, he has expressed a desire to rediscover his voice.
The station demands journalists and broadcasters to work under its auspices to maintain neutrality in their job and refrain from expressing personal beliefs.
The position Marr will hold in the future will provide him more freedom to voice his ideas while still keeping him in the public eye.
