What disease does Noel Fielding have?

In 2009, a Sunday Times article revealed that Fielding had contracted hepatitis during his college years; he said that he was helped through this time by his friend and collaborator Nigel Coan.

In 2013, a Guardian article revealed that Fielding fell ill with hepatitis after completing a degree at Brunel University – and later revealed he was helped through this by friend and collaborator Nigel Coan. Fielding then stopped drinking for six years afterward, even while those around him were enjoying themselves.

This forced him not to drink alcohol for six months, which led him to become teetotal for a couple of years. He said, “I used to be able to enjoy myself with just nothing. I’d stay up till four in the morning, with everyone else being drunk. Just make a bit of effort and you can get used to it.”
