Who Was Justin Johnson AKA 23 Rackz?
23 Rackz was a 16-year-old uprising rapper who was killed by an unknown shooter in Washington DC. His real name was Justin Johnson and he lived in Southwest, Washington D.C. The incident shocked the neighborhood.
The teenager was killed in the 2200 block of Savannah Terrace Southeast, south of Suitland Parkway, in his neighborhood. Since there were no eyewitnesses to the incident, police are yet to arrest anyone.
Locals are in disbelief that someone had the audacity to shoot the 16-year-old teenage boy, who was very famous in his town. He played many gigs in the Southeast area. Fellow rappers paid tributes following the news of his passing.
Rapper Wale Tweeted a photo with the teenager while in LA, writing that he was heartbroken and lost for words. DC radio host DJ Akademics posted on his Instagram and shared how he brought the 16-year-old to the stage and enjoyed the time.
Was Rapper 23 Rackz Killed In DC Shooting?
16-year-old rapper 23 Rackz was shot dead by an unknown gunman outside his home in DC. According to sources, the shooting occurred at 11:24 am on May 26. Police found shell casings while scouring evidence at the crime scene.
The D.C. rapper posted a video on his Instagram moments before the incident occurred. In the video, he was seen chilling outside, smoking something, and lip-syncing a song. On his video was the address he was in at that time.
Initial guesses are that the killer saw his video on Instagram and noticed there was nobody around him at that time, thus initiating the attack and running away without anybody seeing it.
Is The Shooting Suspect Arrested?
The police are yet to know who fatally shot the 16-year-old DC rapper. No lead to the suspect has been found till now. The police are searching hard to find and arrest the culprit.
The rapper posted a couple of photos on his Instagram with money and marijuana. It is also suspected that the murder occurred due to some unsettled business in a deal.
A reward of up to $25,000 is set by D.C. Police to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the crime.
It is believed that the shooter is someone from the locality and was aware of the rapper’s location. No reasons for the murder have yet been identified. It is believed that either personal rivalry or jealousy due to the young rapper’s fame is a factor.
