Chris Dawson Wife Disappearance Case Update: Did He Murder Lynette?

Chris Dawson is accused of killing his wife, Lynette Dawson, and disposing of her body, perhaps with the help of others, on or around January 8, 1982. Mrs. Dawson left their Bayview home on her own, according to the former professional footballer, but the Crown claims the now 73-year-old sought to “get rid” of his wife so he could have a connection with a schoolgirl he taught.

Helena Jenkins, Mrs. Dawson’s sister, testified, that she told the court that she had complained about her husband’s behavior weeks before her sister vanished.

Mr. Dawson had “black flashing eyes,” as per Jenkins, and had pushed her away when she sought to hug him. Moreover, in one letter dated January 4, 1982, Helena Simms, Ms. Dawson’s mother, stated that “Lyn wants Chris to visit a doctor to see what is causing him to be so angry.”

Mr. Dawson, on the other hand, has admitted that he and his wife had relationship problems for a number of reasons, including his romance with the schoolgirl, but that the couple went to a marriage counselor on January 8 and were in good spirits.
