Jerry Smith is the victim of Isimemen Etute, who was found dead after Etute brutally beat him.
Police said that Etute, then 18, fatally beat Smith after discovering his real identity. The linebacker, Isimemen, groped Smith before allegedly beating him to death in what Etutue said was self-defense.
According to the athlete, he punched Smith five times and kicked him to gain time to escape the apartment. In the investigation, police found a knife between the man’s mattress and box spring.
Etute added he didn’t call the police even after he was bubbling and gurgling coming from Smith. After the murder case, the Virginia Tech team suspended him for the murder charge.
Jerry Smith Murder Case Verdict- The Court Decision
The jury took around three hours before the Jerry Smith murder case verdict around 6:30 p.m.
Patrick Jensen, the Prosecutor, maintained that Eutue had not acted in self-defense and made Jury members believe that Smith could have reached a weapon under this mattress.
