In October 2014, Joe Mixon entered an Alford Pleas to a felony assault charge. He punched a young woman named Amelia Molitor and broke her facial bones, which led to her being hospitalized and undergoing several operations.
On July 25, 2014, the incident took place in Norman, Oklahoma. According to Molitor, Mixon and his teammates were harassing her and her friends. Mixon and Molitor had an argument that followed and pushed, slapped, spat on Mixon’s face, and punched him.
The fist reportedly caused her to smash into a table and break her jaw. Therefore, Mixon received a one-year suspended sentence and was asked to be comforted once with 100 hours of community service.
He was arrested and charged with punching a woman in the restaurant, breaking four bones in her face, in July 2014, before his first season with the Sooners began. On April 21, 2017, Joe apologized to Amelia.
