Regarding his education, Vernon joined Ewha University Primary School for his primary education. He completed all of his education in Korea and it was there that he began to show his passion for hip-hop music. His growing love for music in his teens resulted in Vernon joining the Pledis Entertainment record label.

Vernon Seventeen: Career

Shortly after signing with a record label, Vernon made his appearance on the “Seventeen TV” talent show. The show exposed him to the entire world and helped him build an early fan base. On the 26th of 2015, the show reached its grand finale and it was the beginning for the group Seventeen. The group then released their debut EP called “17 Carat”. The song was released on many digital platforms and was able to outlast all other K-pop songs on the US charts in 2015. The group then released their second EP “Boys Be” and was again a huge commercial success. This even allowed them to win various critical acclaim at the Seoul Music Awards.
