Hidden Apartment Behind Medicine Cabinet TikTok Video
After publishing a video series documenting her trip to locate a private vacant apartment behind her bathroom mirror, a lady in New York City went viral on TikTok on Wednesday.
In the opening video of her four-part tale, Samantha Hartsoe said that she was trying to figure out what was causing the frigid air to blow into her Manhattan flat.
Hartsoe said she pulled her bathroom mirror from the wall after discovering the air coming from behind it.
Hartsoe discovered a giant square-shaped hole in the wall that gazed into a dark area.
Hartsoe eventually chose to go into the other half of her bathroom.
“Curiosity killed the cat, and curiosity will kill me,” Hartsoe said to NBC New York. “It’s impossible for me not to know what’s on the other side of my restroom door.”
Hartsoe was seen twisting her body into the hole while wearing a face mask, headlamp, and hammer, much to the chagrin of her roommates.
The footage revealed an entire flat on the other side of the hole that appeared to be unfinished and vacant. The floors were cluttered with trash bags and an uninstalled toilet.
Hartsoe shut the front door to the empty flat after examining both floors and returned to her room through the hole in the bathroom.
As of Friday afternoon, more than nine million people had seen Hartsoe’s mystery voyage on TikTok.
Hartsoe noted that while she has not yet informed her landlord, she has contacted the maintenance department to get the hole behind her mirror repaired.
