Tiffany Haddish Bio

Her birth name is Tiffany Sarac Haddish, born on 3. December 1979 in Los Angeles, California to an Eritrean refugee of Jewish and Ethiopian descent Tshihaye Reda Haddish and his wife, an African American businesswoman and Jehovah Witness devotee Leola Haddish. Her father abandoned his family when Tiffany was three and her mother married another man, with whom she had four more children; Two boys and two girls make Tiffany the older sister of four siblings.

Leola, Tiffany’s mother had a car accident allegedly developed by her new husband who tampered with their vehicle’s brakes in 1988. She suffered severe brain damage and developed schizophrenia due to complications caused by the injuries. Her health condition made her abusive to her children. Because of this, Tiffany Haddish and her four siblings were placed in separate foster homes when she was just 12 years old. Young Tiffany used her unique sense of humor as a shock absorber to deal with the awkward situation around her. Thankfully, she was reunited with her siblings three years later.

Tiffany attended George Ellery Hale Middle School, Woodland Hills, where she graduated and attended El Camino Real High School in the same town. The actress struggled with a reading disability until high school, when she met a tutor who made time to help her overcome her difficulties. Her flair for acting was evident in her school days when she won several awards in various theater competitions. However, due to her troubled family background, Tiffany Haddish broke many school rules and ended up in trouble.

She was later urged by her teacher to seek psychiatric therapy or attend a comedy camp called the Laugh Factory. This was just the nudge Haddish, then 17, needed to pursue the career that would bring her fame and fortune. However, it was days before Alaska Airlines lived in a car as a customer service representative to support her family before things got better for her.

Her first big break came when she appeared in an hour-long stand-up comedy competition on Bill Bellamy’s Who’s Got Jokes? She has also been a guest on shows such as Chelsea, Lately That’s Raven, Def Comedy, Reality Bites Back, New Girl among many others.

Tiffany Haddish landed her leading roles in films such as Meet the Spartans in 2008, Janky Promoters in 2009 along with Ice Cube and Mike Epps. She appeared regularly on the reality TV show Real Husbands of Hollywood from January 15, 2013.

Haddish was also part of the cast of the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) soap opera If Loving You Is Wrong (2014 to 2015), but only stayed for one season before starring in the Nicolas Stoller-led NBC sitcom The Carmichael Show as Nekeisha , the wife of Bobby Carmichael, who was played by Lil Rel Howery for three seasons.

She appeared alongside Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key in another comedy film Keanu in 2016. In 2017 she was part of the star-studded film Girls Trip where she starred alongside Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Regina Hall. The film was a box office hit and became the highest-rated comedy of the year.

When she appeared on Saturday Night Live on November 11, 2017, Tiffany Haddish became the first black female stand-up comedian to host the show. Her memoir The Last Black Unicorn was published in December of that year and was the 15th New York bestseller list.

The Girl Trip Star actress has received numerous nominations and awards throughout her career, including Primetime Emmy, The BET and Black Reel Awards. She went home with BET, Best Actress (2018) for her role in Girl’s Trip and Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress on the Saturday Night Live Show Comedy Series (SNL 2018) and the list goes on.

Wealth (income and earnings)

Tiffany Haddish is easily one of the best entertainers, her comedy flair and acting skills have made her a high earner. The 5ft 6in tall comedienne is valued at $4 million and is worth every penny.

boyfriend, husband or ex-husband

Tiffany Haddish was married to Detective William Stewart at a church in 2009, but sadly a year later, their marriage ended when she divorced him twice, in 2011 and 2013 (apparently the duo married twice). William helped her find her father who had left when she was a child. Her father, who really didn’t give his blessing to the union, was still the one walking her down the aisle, making this wedding anniversary the most memorable moment of his daughter’s life.

William Stewart was an African American born on June 1, 1978 in New York with a bachelor’s degree in economics from Brown University. After graduating, he worked in his family’s bakery and grew his online consulting business.

She split with her ex-husband over alleged abuse of their marriage, a claim she made in her autobiography The Last Black Unicorn (2017). William Stewart has taken to his social media to refute such claims and has gone a step further by enlisting the services of a legal team who, in May 2018, sued his ex-wife Tiffany for defamation and defamation of value sued for $1 million.

Admittedly, Tiffany popped up in a YouTube show posted on the Liala Lyn Channel in July 2018 to suggest that some of the book’s content may have been embellished with content she never originally included in her manuscript. We’ll wait and see how things play out in court and if her husband heads home with a sizeable chunk of his talented $4 million fortune.

Tiffany Haddish is currently not dating anyone but seems open to it if she finds the right man.
