Likewise, people also recognize him as Gregory Manes on The CW’s Roswell, New Mexico, and Dr. John “Finn” Finnegan in the American CBS soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful.
Tanner Novlan Leaving Bold And The Beautiful: What Happened To John Finnegan?
Tanner Novlan, starring as Dr. John “Finn” Finnegan, seems to be leaving The Bold and the Beautiful.
In the latest episode, Finn’s mother, Sheila Carter, confronted his wife, Steffy Forrester, in the alley while he was in the hospital looking at his phone, waiting for a text reply from his wife.
A few moments later, Finn leaves after telling the hospital staff he has to go out. And at the alley, the two women go back and forth as Sheila wants her family to love her, but Steffy denies the idea saying no one would love her, including her son.
As for Finn, he is in the car, flashbacking his conversations with his mom and thinking she isn’t going to change. Then, with a furious look, he steps on the gas.
In the alley, Sheila tries to persuade her daughter-in-law to get the stuff that happened with Brooke behind them, asking her to let her parents get together. However, Steffy retorts back, saying she won’t let her mom and dad start their life together on a lie.
Sheila responds furiously and tries to justify her actions, saying her actions were for Steffy and her family. Steffy denies her justification saying she did it for herself.
Then, Finn’s mom moves in and gives out a clear warning that no one is keeping her away from her son and grandson, Hayes, including Steffy.
In response, she threatens to reveal everything to Finn. They go back and forth until Steffy says that Sheila will never see Finn and Hayes. Those words resound inside her mind as she pivots away and pulls out a gun. And as she shoots, her son appears and gets between them.
The bullet strikes him in the gut region, which causes him to fall onto a pile of garbage. As a result, Steffy is in shock, while Sheila screams, “No! No…!”
While Steffy is sobbingly begging for Finn to wake up, he coughs and asks, “What happened.” A few moments later, his chest rises and falls as he tells her to make sure Hayes has a good life and he loves her.
After that, she calls Sheila a monster and starts dialing 911. Before her finger touches the last number, she asks her to put the phone down, pointing the gun at her.
So, Tanner’s time at the soap seems to be over. He first began playing the role back in July 2020.

Tanner Novlan isn’t dead, but the character he portrays in The Bold and the Beautiful seems so.
According to his latest Instagram post, he was on the US/Mexico Border with This Is About Humanity, a community dedicated to raising awareness about separated and reunified families and vulnerable communities on both sides of the border.
Tanner visited the El Bordo border wall and spoke with migrant families and asylum seekers in Tijuana Sun Hambre. They also distributed shoes to the children studying at Yes We Can World Foundation’s mobile school bus.
Likewise, he also listened to the testimonials of the women fleeing violence, unaccompanied minor children, and families.
Tanner lives with his wife, Kayla Ewell, and daughter, Poppy Marie. He is expecting another child in August.
