Sweden Tourist Visa Eligibility &
Requirements

  • Foreign nationals who want to travel to Sweden for vacations can apply for this visa. 
  • This visa also permit holders to visit friends and families, visit tourist sights and even attend ceremonies. 
  • Tourist visa is valid for 180 days and allows a maximum stay of up to 90 days. 
  • Multiple entry visas can be valid for up to 1 year but also does not allow a stay of over 90 days in every 6 months. 
  • The application form must be filled completely and honestly. Wrong information can delay visa processing. 
  • A travel health insurance with a minimum of €30,000 coverage within Schengen areas must be provided. 
  • A detailed travel itinerary showing the place(s) to be visited during the trip is required 
  • The health insurance should be valid for the duration of the trip. 
  • The applicant is required to submit a cover letter stating the duration and exact purpose of the trip. 
  • Accommodation reservation must be made for every trip. If you would be staying with your host, the contact details of the host would be included. 
  • All applicants are required to submit a recent bank statement showing up to 450 SEK or €48.26 per day at the time of applying for the visa. 
  • If you have a host in Sweden, an invitation letter from the host is required. The letter should state the relationship between the host and applicant, duration of stay and purpose of visit. 
  • Return flight reservation proof is also required as it enables the Consul know that you intend to return to Botswana when your visa expires. 
  • Sweden is part of the Schengen states so a visa to Sweden grants entry into member Schengen states.

Requirements

  • Business trips, seminars, conferences, meetings and purchasing of business materials can be done with a business visa.
  • It is also a short-stay visa valid for 180 days with a stay period of 90 days.
  • An invitation letter from the business partner in Sweden stating the type of business to be conducted, duration of the business, name and details of the company.
  • The letter should be stamped with the official stamp of the company and it should also state who will be responsible for the bills of the trip.
  • If the host company will not cater to the trip then a sponsor would be required.
  • For individuals who have been in previous business dealings with the company, they would be required to provide details of the transaction.
  • A return flight ticket to your country of origin, showing entry and exit date and flight information should be presented.
  • Applicants travelling to attend a conference would be required to submit proof of payment and registration for the conference.
  • Individuals are required to have a medical insurance that would be valid for the duration of the trip. This would cover any sort of emergency that might occur during the trip.
  • Employed applicants are required to submit a letter from their current employer in Botswana. The letter should state the applicant’s position at the office and monthly wages.
  • Self-employed applicants should provide a copy of their business registration certificate and proof of tax clearance.
  • You cannot be gainfully employed with a business visa.
