Susan Mikula’s biography
Susan Mikula was born in New Jersey in 1958. She has a sister who, like Mikula, grew up to be a photographer but specialized in medical photography. Susan was said to have been raised by her mother, with details of her father not readily available to the public.
When Mikula was just a few years old, her family relocated to and settled in New Hampshire, USA. She spent most of her early life there, where she reportedly taught herself photography at a young age. Susan received her college education from Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts and that’s about all we know about her educational pursuits.
Susan Mikula began her passion and profession as a photographer shortly after her education and she practiced and perfected her art for several years before beginning to achieve perfection in the craft. As she became so good at her productions, she began to gain recognition and respect from artists and critics in the industry and was called upon to be part of the judging panel at art fairs.
In 1988, Susan organized her first individual art exhibition and it was a resounding success. She has organized several other exhibitions over the years, all of which have been very successful, even the United States government has bought some of her artworks to display in some embassies.
Personal life
Susan Mikula has never revealed much details about her personal life to the public, but one of the few highly personal pieces of information about her that is available in the public space is her relationship.
She is currently in a long-term relationship with MSNBC’s principal political commentator, Rachel Maddow. Susan met Rachel in 1999. Rachel just finished her Ph.D. PhD in Politics at Oxford University at the time. Susan is said to have hired Rachel to help with her garden landscape and not only was she pleased with the job well done by Rachel, but she also evidently took a liking to the contractor who was responsible for her work.
According to the artist, she has always preferredfemale lovers, and she wasted no time in expressing her admiration for Rachel. They both decided to have their first date at a National Rifle Association (NRA) program called Ladies Day on the Range, and it went so well that their relationship blossomed from there. They have been together for around 20 years now and are enjoying life as it is without the pressure of even getting legally married – as they have indicated they would if they felt the time came.
