Sue Marx children: Meet her daughters Terry Marx, Jane Marx & Elizabeth Marx

Sue Marx, a mostly self-taught professional filmmaker who shocked Hollywood by winning an Academy Award in 1987 for her short documentary, Young at Heart, passed away on July 17, 2023, in her Birmingham, Michigan, home. The marriage of her own bereaved father, who was then in his 80s, and another widowed artist was the subject of that movie, which may have been the high point of her extensive and diversified media career. Today, the movie is still often viewed and analyzed.

Throughout her illustrious career, Marx produced almost 200 movies. She covered a wide range of subjects, including John Glick, architecture, venerable Supreme Court Justice John Voelker, a writer from Michigan, and The Relaxation Station, a program designed to help kids in distress deal with stress and anxiety.
