Subomi Balogun Cause Of Death

Otunba Michael Olasubomi Balogun, the founder of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) and Olori Omoba of Ijebuland, has passed away. THISDAY was told by family sources that he passed away in London on Friday morning.

Subomi worked for the Nigerian Industrial Development Bank (NIDB) as principal counsel and company secretary for nine years, from 1966 to 1975. That was one of the reasons he became interested in banking.

He then underwent training at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a private sector subsidiary of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), also known as the World Bank, both of which are located in Washington, DC.

He went even further and sought out top merchant banks, investment banks, and stockbrokers in London and New York to learn from.
