Steve practically grew up on Long Island and as she attended St. Anthony Catholic High School in South Huntington, New York. He left St. Anthony after a year following what he called a mutual decision. Nevertheless, in 1996, he graduated from Smithtown High School. A graduate of the State University of New York at Oneonta in communications, Steve studied theater and film at SUNY Purchase.

After graduating, Steve started working in a company in New York. Later, he was able to find a job at the famous Comedy Store on Sunset Blvd. It was in the Comedy Store that actor and show producer Ashton Kutcher attended his performance. With great luck and talent, Rannazzisi became part of Kutcher’s ‘Punk’d’ series and became one of the daring cast members performing with celebrities on the show. CC : Support Up notes.

After his appearances on Punk’d, he landed a role in the comedy series ‘The League’ in 2009, in which he played fantasy football league player Kevin MacArthur. In an interview with Time Out , he described his experience on the set of The League as awesome.

He recently hinted at the possibility for fans to see his return to the show for the seventh and final installment of the series. He is also slated to guest star in the new season of “New Girl.”

9/11 and the education controversy

Rannazzisi had claimed for more than 14 years that he was a staff member working on the 54th floor of Merrill Lynch, which was located in the South Tower of the World Trade Center. Throughout his career, his storytelling was inspired by pity and compassion, knowing that he narrowly escaped death in the 9/11 terrorist attack. This event, he claimed, was the reason he ventured into comedy and acting.

However, in September 2015, Steve himself refuted this claim when asked by The New York Times to clarify the claim. This is after investigations showed that Steve was never a member of staff at Merrill Lynch, which interestingly had no office in the World Trade Center at the time of the attack. It was also discovered that Steve had never attended the State University of New York at Purchase. When asked, he simply said he didn’t know why he lied. We can only assume he did it to gain popularity and advance his career.
