People are mourning the death of beloved educator Stan Elrod in Forsyth County. He passed away at his home Tuesday. He served as Reagan High School’s first principal when it opened in 2005; retiring in 2010. At the time of his death, he was a candidate for the Forsyth County Board of Education.

Hal Elrod’s net worth is approximately $1.5 Million. Elrod passed away at his home on Tuesday, his older sister Donna Whitlock confirmed on social media.
“My heart is broken tonight,” she wrote on Facebook. “My sweet baby brother, Stan Elrod passed away at his home tonight. It was very sudden and unexpected. We are all in shock and hurting.”
Upon his retirement in 2010, he noted that he’d “miss the students and the teachers, but not the other stuff.”
At the time of his passing, Stan was one of five candidates running in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Board Of Education race. He received over 9000 votes, the second-highest amount of supporters in the primary election, as per WFDD.
