The Wilds on Amazon Prime Video was a breakout hit with fans, and it was quickly renewed for a second season. Jamie Tarses was a driving force behind the first season.
The Wilds pursues a group of teenage girls who become stranded on a deserted island following a plane crash. Season one ended with the surprise twist that there was another island with boys on it, and we knew season two would be even better.
Although it has two fewer episodes, it has twice the number of characters, including Zack Calderon, Rachel Griffiths, and Sarah Pidgeon. Let’s get to know more about Jamie.
Who Is Jamie Tarses On The Wilds? Season 2’s Emotional Tribute & Cause Of Death
The Wilds was executive produced by Jamie Tarses.
Jamie began her career at NBC in the 1980s, and her credits include Friends, Mad About You, Frasier, and NewsRadio. When she left NBC, she became the first female president of ABC Entertainment, and she continued to executive produce after leaving.
Tarses’ last show, The Wilds, was released on Amazon Prime Video before she suffered a stroke in 2020. This occurred just a few weeks before Season 1’s premiere, causing it to air while Tarses was still in a coma. Unfortunately, she never fully recovered, and Jamie Tarses died on February 1, 2021, at the age of 56.
The Wilds Season 2, Episode 1 covers Day 30 for Eve’s Dawn and Day 1 for Adam’s Twilight. It begins on the girls’ side of the island, picking up on the cliffhanger from Season 1.
Rachel was involved in a shark attack, and Nora vanished into the water. On the boys’ side of the island, however, we learn that one of the original survivors does not survive.
Before the credits, there was a dedication “For Our Beloved Jamie” at the end of the episode. This was a lovely tribute to Jamie Tarses.
