Known for his laid-back aura and love for marijuana, Snoop Dogg is definitely rap royalty. He was born on October 20, 1971, Beverly Broadus and Vernell Varnado, Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr. Vernell was an absent father, which is probably why the rapper was named after his stepfather, who wore the same name. No doubt Snoop Dogg’s sons and daughter have a better dad for this reason, or do they?
From humble beginnings of being involved in gang activities, getting arrested and setting up mix tapes, Snoop has come a long way. Since 1992, when he was discovered by Dr. Dre, the artist has learned the ropes and his unique laid-back style has set him apart.
Through it all, he didn’t neglect to start a family and who better to do that than with such a sweet heart in high school, right? Let’s see how it worked for them.

The date was June 14, 1997, the place was the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Marina Del Rey, California, and the occasion was Snoop Dogg’s wedding ceremony. Shante Broadus (née Taylor), is “ride or die” from Snoop, being with him before he amassed his $135 million fortune. Their boat hit an iceberg 7 years later when the artist filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences”.
Shante must have made a lasting impression on him because the entertainer, momentarily lost in his stardom, found his way back to her. Snoop surprised his unsuspecting wife on January 12, 2008. He planned a vow renewal ceremony at Charlie Wilson’s ranch, in front of 200 guests.
This year, on the 19th anniversary of their love, Snoop had the world dreaming, ‘Awwwwww’, when he posted a beautiful photo of himself and his wife at their prom. He said, “19 today, happy birthday from day 1. Thank you for my children.” The couple have three children together, Corde, Cordell and Cory.

The list would be incomplete if we did not add the name Julian Corrie Braudus. In 2007, it emerged he had a son with his former high school sweetheart, Laurie Holmond. The eldest son and son of his parents, CordeCalvin Broadus, nicknamed “Spank” by his father, was born in 1994. Corde was a phenomenal high school football player. It became more apparent when UCLA offered him a football scholarship. In short, he declined to pursue a musical career like his famous father. We hope it suits him.
Corde got a lot of media attention, when he tweeted a photo of him and his dad smoking weed together. This caused a social media frenzy and Snoop became very concerned about his skills and his parenting choices.
In response, he told The Hollywood Reporter, “My kids can do whatever they want, that’s hypocritical of me. A large number of mothers do not have a relationship with their children, it is when they take drugs, have suicidal thoughts and are drunk while driving.
More recently, in January 2015, our boy Spank, made an addition to the Broadus clan. He and his partner Jessica Kyzer welcomed their son, Sion, into the world. Needless to say the whole family was thrilled.

He was born and in February 1997 and looks a lot like his brother, he has “crazy skills” with a soccer ball. Also like his brother, after joining the Bruins from UCLA, the freshman quit the sport. This must have been embarrassing for his father, who had previously made a big deal of his signing day commitment to UCLA when Cordell had just attended high school.
When UCLA head football coach Jim Mora told him that he wanted to pursue a career in film and would rather focus on it. This momentary madness must have ended because he said he was still working and planning to join the UCLA Bruins in spring training this year.

The secret son of AKA Snoop Dogg, Julian was born in 1998. He was the product of an extra marital affair the star had with a former high school girl, Laurie Holmond. The star has always heard of the boy, but it made news in 2007. Apparently, the artist was not an ideal father for Julian, he was in fact an absent father. Of this, Julian told Fameolous: “I’m almost a grown man, so my mind isn’t as heavy as it used to be.”
He also added, “I always knew music was what my life was really about, but I pushed it away trying not to be like my dad,” he said. “But I got older and I stopped pushing it away and I never felt better or passionate about anything.” So, someone is sure to follow in his father’s footsteps.

The baby of the house, affectionately called ‘Shock’ from her father, was born just a year after her half-brother, in 1999. Cori Broadus followed suit, also drawing inspiration from her father, she started her musical career since 2011 with one of his first singles entitled “Do My Thang”. She’s also featured on her dad’s 2015 album “No Guns Allowed” when he was still in his Snoop Lion phase.
In 2011, an unexpected tragedy struck the BroadusHousehold. Cori was diagnosed with lupus; a chronic autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body. “Shante and I cried 1,000 times,” Snoop told People Magazine.
Cori is definitely a fighter and her parents have confirmed that she is winning the battle against the disease, which at one point claimed all of her hair. The starlet seems to be doing well and we expect big things from her.
