Irma Garcia, a 46-year-old experienced teacher, was the second educator killed in the Texas elementary school shooting. Eva Mireles, 44, was her co-teacher and was the other teacher shot in the Robb Elementary School tragedy in Uvalde on Tuesday evening. Before being shot and killed by a Customs and Border Patrol agent, the gunman attached himself to the school and began firing bullets.
The ladies were among three adults slain in the tragedy, with gunman Salvador Ramos, 18, responsible for the deaths of the two women and 19 children. Following Gracia’s untimely death, her friends and family have paid tribute to her.

Irma Gracia Torres, a fourth-grade teacher who co-taught with the other teacher, Eva Mireles, died in the shooting, was fatally shot during the incident, according to her nephew John. Interestingly, she has been a teacher for 23 years, and in 2019, the Uvalde Independent School District nominated her for Teacher of the Year.
Sadly, Garcia was assassinated just hours after her colleague, Mireles. Amerie Jo Garza, Xavier Lopez, Makenna Lee Elord, and Eliahana Cruz Torres, all 10, and Uziyah Garcia, nine, are the five children who have been identified thus far.
