Seattle Seahawks Logo Redesign and New Uniforms 2023

Seattle Seahawks Logo Redesign in 2023 is the modern take on the current design of Osprey. Emily Morgan created it and shared it via her TikTok account.

Seahawks logo change was last made in 2012. The color palette was adjusted, and a meaner glare was provided to the bird’s eyes.

The adjustment to the emblem matched the uniform change made by Nike in 2012.

Bleacher Report wrote about the trademark and sounded dissatisfied with the alteration. The lack of attention and work put in by the organization was noticeable.

It does not mean it was or is the worst in the league, as we have witnessed some outdated and bizarre emblems that certainly need freshness.

Likewise, the flying motion of the Osprey with its wings spread was one of the eye-catching sights among the 2023 NFL Draft logos.

Seattle Seahawks new unofficial logo created by graphic designer Emily Morgan caught social media attention. It received a mixed reaction from the audience.

Seahawks new logo 2023 is a concept design and not the official redesign. Cleveland Browns also launched their alternate dog logo in 2023. Houston Mark’s design was declared the winner on 12th June.

Morgan made slight adjustments to the original, keeping the central theme the exact to maintain its originality. Her design is cool and looks futuristic.

She arched the bird and added curves to add more depth to the emblem.

In the past, she worked on another concept, a complete iteration of the original.

It kept the ‘S’ letter to represent Seattle. The beak-like structure can be seen in the front. The use of navy blue and lime green concludes it.

Emily must be credited for her creativity and courage to present an entirely new idea. But, it seems to miss the mark and looks too complicated.

The original trademark has the Kwwakaka’wakw art mask, their first symbol. Taking that away from the emblem suppresses the notion and does not provide authenticity.

Not to discredit her skill and talent, she is one of the best in business but maybe the 2022 comeback team needs to dig into their history.

Seattle Seahawks Logos Over The Past

The first logo came out in 1976. The forest green eye and neck region with royal blue beak and facial region made it appear fierce and royal.

The use of indigenous Kwakwakaa’wakw added flavor and recognition to the club. It was used till 2001.

In 2002, the first redesign was done. A modernized version with some changes in shade marked the rendition.

The stylized version saw a meaner and more aggressive-looking bird head. The beak had a greater arc and looked more realistic.

Forest green was limited to the pupil. The neck area was colored in a lighter tone of blue, while other regions were covered in navy blue, a much darker hue.

Likewise, the present-day layout was initiated in 2012. It kept the original look and style.

The wolf gray replaced the lighter blue tone. The green color also faded a bit, and a lighter shade of navy blue dominated most of the region.

The bird’s glare was made fiercer than before.

Seattle Seahawks New Uniforms In 2023

Seattle Seahawks New Uniforms In 2023 will be their throwback apparel. The entire roster will sport them in the week 8 throwback match opposite the Browns.

Seahawks new colors include the iconic royal blue and silver. It will be paying tribute to the vintage attire which the team wore during the 1990s.

The week 12 fixture at the Lumen Field, where they hosted Las Vegas Raiders revealed the franchise’s plan for a comeback of retro kit. A short video was played during the halftime of that game on 28th November 2022.

The video started with the major headlines from the 90s, including the rise of Kurt Cobain, the introduction of Microsoft, Boeing, and transitions to sports. It shifts its focus to Seattle Seahawks and their aggressive play in that period.

The teal costume and silver helmet can be seen. The video ends with the message, ‘Coming in 2023.’

The throwback kit is possible due to Second Helmet Rule passed in 2021.

Regular uniforms in 2023

In 2023, the Seahawks will sport college navy, silver, white, and wolf gray as the primary colors.

The home apparel features a navy top and bottom. The thick stripes of lime green and silver are noticeable on the shoulders. The gray lettering with a lime green border is present in the center of the jersey.

Another combination of home set throws in silver pants.

Likewise, the away attire accommodates navy trousers with a white jersey. The navy shoulder stripes and lettering add to the franchise’s identity.

The team can also opt for white pants in their road uniform.

Similarly, an all-gray concept is used for the alternate kit. All jersey sets’ helmets use navy blue with white dots in the middle.

All these combinations of tops and bottoms were designed by Nike in 2012. The main talking point was the inclusion of twelve feathers on the trousers and neckline of the jerseys.

Before that, the uniform used a combination of royal blue, forest green, and white colors from 1976 to 1982.

A slight change was made in 1983 with the helmet facemask moving to gray. Following that, some minor changes have been noticeable throughout the years.

The 2002’s major haul to use darker shades changed the franchise’s identity. The introduction of darker navy blue has become their color to this date.
