Sdumo Mtshali Biography
Sdumo Mtshali is a South African actor and producer. He rose to fame after winning the first season of the SABC1 reality competition Class Act, in 2010.
Early Life
Mtshali was born as Sdumo Tsepo Mtshali to his parents on 3rd March 1983 in King Edwards Hospital in Durban, South Africa.
He studied drama and art at the Durban University of Technology, but like many actors, encountered several roadblocks along the way, the most pertinent being unemployment.
Most notably, he started acting at the age of 11 years and his first play was Robin Hood: Men in Tights. In addition, Mtshali auditioned for the first season of the SABC1 reality competition Class Act, in 2010 and won the competition.
Prior to his prize, he won representation from Moonyeen Lee and Associates and was sent on the New York Film Academy for eight weeks to further learn the craft of acting.

Upon his return to South Africa, he was cast in the Donovan Marsh film iNumber Number, which was a further part of his prize for winning the Class Act.
He landed his first lead acting role with SABC drama series Intersexions, which premiered in October 2010 and went on to play married medical student, Maidi Kotwe, in daily soapie Rhythm City. Mtshali also proceeded to feature as Kuti Daniels in SABC1’s fashion series TempyPusha and played Spikiri in the feature film, Inside Story directed by Rolie Nikiwe in 2012.
His most prestigious role, however, has been starring as the lead in the action-thriller iNumber Number, which has become a hit at film festivals worldwide and will receive a Hollywood make-over under the hand of Fast and Furious writer Chris Morgan, and his partner Emile Gladstone.
