Kent Perkins, an actor, is largely known for being the husband of Ruth Buzzi. Buzzi had her first major television appearance in 1964, on The Garry Moore Show, shortly after Carol Burnett departed the show and was replaced by Dorothy Loudon.
She played “Shakundala the Silent,” a clumsy magician’s helper to her comedic partner Dom DeLuise, who played “Dominic the Great.” Buzzi was a regular repertory company member on the CBS variety show The Entertainers (1964-65).
In 1966-1967, she appeared in Sweet Charity opposite Gwen Verdon, the wife of director Bob Fosse. Buzzi played a variety of minor roles, including “the Singing Fairy.”
Buzzi participated in all eight episodes of The Steve Allen Comedy Hour, a variety show hosted by Steve Allen, in 1967.
Her performance in the Allen sketches helped her get a spot on the cast of NBC’s new show, Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In. She was notable for being the only featured player to appear in every episode of Laugh-In, including the pilot and the television special.
Buzzi played several recurring characters on the show, including Flicker Farkle, the Farkle family’s youngest member; Busy-Buzzi, a Hollywood gossip columnist reminiscent of Hedda Hopper; Doris Swizzler, a regular at cocktail lounges who frequently got intoxicated with her husband Leonard (played by Dick Martin); and one of the Burbank Airlines Stewardesses, who were known for their rude behavior.
Ruth Buzzi Husband: Meet Kent Perkins
The well-known Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In actress wed Kent after beginning her comedic career. Despite the fact that she had previously been married to Basil Keko, IMDb reports that there is little information known regarding their personal connection.
The Nashville Palace, Wishful Thinking, and One Month Out were all starring roles for Kent, an actor with 21 credits in various TV series and motion pictures since the mid-1970s. He also contributed as a writer and producer to the movies To Protect and Serve (1992) and The Being (1981), respectively.
Ruth and Kent have comparable occupations, but they also have a passion for animals in common. For many years, they both provided support to the Utopia Animal Rescue Ranch. Ruth and her husband made the decision to move to a ranch in Texas after spending decades making their mark in Hollywood.
