Rock House
Description
Rock House was designed by a local architect to reflect its link with its sister hotel, Mountain Rock Lodge, on the rocky slopes of Mt Kenya. The landscaped gardens have been designed to replicate a mountain environment. A large-scale model of Mt Kenya has been built into the grounds, with climbing routes etched into it. Guests intending to climb the mountain can use this to plan their route, and can book mountain treks here.
There are 6 en—suite rooms. made up of 1 single and 5 doubles. All rooms are furnished with natural wood furniture. There is also a campsite.
WiFi is available throughout the house and grounds. The garden, filled with lush vegetation, tropical flowers and a waterfall, attracts a wide variety of birdlife.
Meals are hosted by the owners. Dishes are created from fresh Iocal ingredients, and guests are weicorne to visit the kitchen to learn how to prepare Kenyan cuisine.
Rock House is in the Nairobi suburb of Langata_ Nearby attractions within walking distance include the Giraffe Centre, Hardy horse stud farm and Karen health club and swimming pool. Attractions a short drive away include Karen Blixen Museum, Sheidrick Elephant Orphanage and Nairobi National Park. Vehicles and bicycles can be hired here.
