At the age of 8, Rich Harrison started suffering from epileptic seizures which would confine him to bed and eventually led to his lifelong love of reading. While he read all books he could have gotten his hands on, he grew especially fond of those on physics and history, with his favorite area of historical study being the British Navy. Currently, he is a co-owner of the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop which is featured on the History series Pawn Stars.
When Harrison was 17 years old, his girlfriend, Kim Harrison, got pregnant and even though she miscarried, the couple decided to get married either way. Later, they had two sons together but soon after the birth of their second child, they decided to get a divorce. Both his sons continued to live with Harrison and his second wife, Tracy Harrison, with whom Rick also shares one son. However, Tracy and Rick’s marriage ended in a divorce as well.
Rich Harrison is currently married to his third wife, Deanna Burditt.
