Doug Smith Worked At Beal Bank

Ree Drummond brother Doug Smith was a portfolio manager and trader at Beal Bank. He served the bank for more than three years.

Smith is best known for being the older brother of celebrity chef Drummond. He grew up with his three siblings -one brother and two sisters- in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, United States.

After completing high school in his hometown, he joined Southern Methodist University and earned his BS degree in Economics with Finance Applications.

He then attended The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and studied MBA (1992-1994). Soon after graduating, he joined Kidder Peabody as an associate and worked until 1995.

In May 1995, he joined UBS Investment Bank as an Associate Director and worked until October 1998. In December of the same year, he went on to join Smith Breeden Associates in Dallas.

He left the company in August 2000 to join Williams Energy. Smith then worked at Microsoft for one year in 2003 and in Beal Bank/CGS Investments for over two years (2004-2006) as a bond trader.

He has a son Stuart Smith

Smith is married to Suzanne Holland and both share a grown-up son Stuart Smith. The young boy is very close to his aunt, Drummond, and he often comes to visit her.

The chef often boasts about her nephew on her socials. Consider her October 2020 IG post, where she wrote, “In case you didn’t know, my nephew Stu is the cutest kid ever and I love him so much.”

Stu also lends a hand to his celebrity aunt. He assisted her for Pioneer Woman as a production assistant.

On May 5, 2022, Ree Drummond announced Stu will leave her cooking series, The Pioneer Woman. She revealed her nephew will spend his summer interning in Chicago and head back to college in the fall.

Ree Drummond Has Two Other Siblings

Drummond is among the four kids of her parents. She has two older brothers, Doug and Mike Smith, and one younger sister, Betsy Lee Smith.

Mike Smith

Michael Smith, also known as Mike to his close ones, was the older brother of Food Network star Drummond. He grew up with his three siblings in the oil town of Bartlesville.

He had special needs and was a known figure in his local community. He had a great interest in the work of local first responders. Mike used to work a few hours a day at his dad’s office.

Sadly, he passed away on October 30, 2021, at age 54.

Although his cause of demise was never publicly shared, a close friend did mention he “went fast and did not suffer” via a tribute on social media, Hello Magazine reported.

Drummond also took to her Instagram to mourn her brother’s passing. “Michael Smith, you were everything,” she penned emotionally.

“It isn’t possible to sum up the life of someone as perfectly wonderful as my brother Michael, so right now I won’t try,” she added. She told she was grateful for over 50 years of photos and memories.

Betsy Lee Smith

Betsy Lee is the youngest of the Smith siblings. The siblings never grew apart from each other and are extremely close.

Lee and Drummond often spend quality time together. Remember when the blogger celebrated her sister’s stay on her ranch by posting fun pictures on Instagram in 2021?

Despite not sharing fiery locks like her big sister, Lee has plenty of similarities with her, from their genuine smiles to catchy eyes.

The sisters also share a love for football, as they enjoyed themselves cheering on Drummond’s youngest son one evening during his game at Pawhuska High School.

Betsy has lived in Seattle for years. In May 2021, she came to Drummond’s son’s wedding. She and her son, Elliot, again visited them for Easter and while her son returned back to Seattle, she stayed for a few more days.

During her stay, Drummond’s hubby once invited them to drive up to Kansas, where he was burning some pastureland. They had a wonderful time there.

The Chef Has Cool Parents

Ree Drummond was born to parents William Dale Smith and Gerre Schwert on January 6, 1969, in Bartlesville. Her birth name is Anne Marie.

Her dad was an orthopedic surgeon and her mom was a homemaker. The two separated a year after Ree’s wedding. Following their divorce, the Smiths found themselves in the middle of a scandal.

Gerre left her spouse of 33 years in 1996 because she fell in love with their family pastor, Doug Schwert, reported In Touch Weekly.

She and Doug, who at the time was married to his wife of about 20 years, first came close as friends and active members of the church. They married in 1999 and left Oklahoma.

William didn’t agree with his wife’s request for a divorce. But the former pair ultimately divorced in 1997. He later moved on and remarried his current wife, Patsy.

The Pioneer Woman star loves when her mom comes to visit her. Last year in February, she shared loving pictures of her spending time with her mom at her home in Oklahoma.

The first photo saw the mother-daughter duo sipping fruity cocktails in matching floral blouses.

Ree Drummond And Husband Live A Country Life

The celebrity chef married Ladd Drummond on September 21, 1996. Her husband is a 4th generation member of the Osage County cattle ranching Drummond family.

She refers to her partner as “the Marlboro Man” in her blog and books. The happy pair spent their honeymoon in Australia and resided on a remote working cattle ranch about 8 miles west of Pawhuska.

In late 2016, Ree and her hubby opened a restaurant retail store, The Mercantile, in a 100-year-old downtown Pawhuska building they purchased and started renovating in 2012.

In 2018, they launched The Boarding House, a bed and breakfast, and a pizzeria, P-Town Pizza, in downtown Pawhuska. In 2020, they opened an ice cream and candy shop, Charlie’s Sweet Shop.

The pair have been married for over 26 years. Despite busy schedules, they manage to spend quality time with each other, go on dates, and watch movies together.

And while the couple sometimes gets too busy to have a major anniversary blast every year, they never miss embracing and adoring one another’s love. The chef loves talking about and cooking for her man.

The Pioneer Woman Has 5 Kids

Ree Drummond and Ladd have five children, Bryce Drummond, Alex Drummond, Todd Drummond, Paige Drummond, and Jamar Drummond.
