Caleb Swanigan, a former NBA player and outstanding basketball player for Purdue, passed away at the age of 25, the university announced via Twitter.
American basketball player Caleb Sylvester Swanigan played professionally. He represented the Purdue Boilermakers in collegiate basketball.
Rivals.com, Scout.com, and ESPN all listed him as one of the top prep athletes in the country for the 2015 class.
Caleb Swanigan Weight Loss Journey
Just one year after his last NBA game, former Trail Blazers big man Caleb Swanigan appears to have changed entirely.
Caleb Swanigan, a former teammate of Damian Lillard’s with the Portland Trail Blazers, jumped to his former teammate’s rescue after noticing a significant weight gain only a year after their final NBA match.
Wanigan appeared in court for a hearing about his misdemeanor marijuana possession charge, to which he entered a guilty plea.
Swanigan is dealing with real-life challenges, Lillard said in a comment on an Instagram post that featured both old and new pictures of the actor.
Swanigan battled weight throughout his youth and adolescence before concentrating on his basketball career.
Caleb Swanigan Before And After Transformation From Fat To Athletic
When he played last season, Caleb Swanigan was 260 pounds. According to sources, the 6’9″ forward has gained more than 400 pounds.
He was listening to his new guardian, Roosevelt Barnes, tell him something absurdly grandiose as they exercised on an indoor court in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in the summer of 2011. He continued to grow into his name, standing 6′ 2″ and weighing 360 pounds by age 13.
He could only shuffle if asked to run because of his minimal vertical range of motion. But Barnes, a sports agent who played football, basketball, baseball, and linebacker for Purdue before spending four seasons with the Lions, encouraged him to believe in his abilities.
His only decent attire was a shirt, tie, and khakis. He had exited the Fort Wayne airport that June carrying all he owned in a single duffel bag. He was 100 pounds heavier and two inches shorter than Fat Cat’s stated over the phone. He took him to a cardiologist to see if he had cardiac issues after immediately becoming weary after their first workout. He passed every stress test, which provided Barnes the confidence he needed to move forward.
He has always been Biggie, but his life has undergone several changes. Some of these changes are obvious, like his thinning waistline, while others are more subtle, like what transpired last September when a guest speaker visited the Boilermakers’ film room at Mackey Arena to speak to the team.
