The 18-year-old student was last seen waiting for a bus in Plymouth on the evening of Saturday, November 20 last year, on her way to meet up with friends.
Three days later, her body was discovered near the beach at Bovisand, approximately seven miles from her residence.
The two had never met before, and the motive for the attack is unclear, although it is believed that Ackland used force to compel her into his vehicle, then repeatedly beat her.

Cody Ackland grabbed McLeod, who was under 5ft tall and looked younger than her age, off the street near her Plymouth home, driving her away.
He beat her with a blunt instrument for several minutes before hiding her body in the trees on a route down to the beach.
Rakuda has removed photos from its Facebook page and altered its profile picture to a candle in memory of Bobbi-Anne. The band has also announced their split.
The other band members wrote on Facebook that they were extremely shocked by the situation that occurred over several days.

Bobbi’s family including her parents, grandparents, and siblings had left their home earlier in the day and walked the short distance to the bus stop, flanked by dozens of fans waving balloons.
