PJ Dozier, a senior from Spring Valley High School, took part in the 2015 McDonald’s All-American Boys Game and scored 14 points. Later, he decided to enroll at South Carolina University and play basketball there.
According to ESPN, he was the 21st-best recruit in his class. It’s interesting to note that Perry Dozier, his father, played basketball for South Carolina in the 1980s.
He played a significant role in South Carolina’s historic journey to the Final Four during his second year of college, working alongside Sindarius Thornwell.
After scoring 21 points against Marquette in the NCAA Tournament, he was even selected to the East Region All-Tournament Team. Dozier managed to score 17 points in the Final Four despite Gonzaga prevailing 77-73.
On January 9, 2023, he later agreed to a 10-day contract with the Sacramento Kings, which was subsequently extended for an extra 10-day period on January 19.
But when Dozier’s contract expired, the Kings choose to sign Deonte Burton to a 10-day contract rather than renewing it. So on January 29, 2023, he re-joined the Iowa Wolves. On February 25, 2023, the Sacramento Kings did, however, repurchase Dozier.
