Phillip LaDon Phillips Jr., born September 20, 1990, is an incredibly talented American musician and singer-songwriter who won the eleventh season of the popular television show American Idol in 2012.
His remarkable victory was fueled by his outstanding version of the coronation song, “Home,” which went on to become the most-sold song in American Idol history.
On the heels of his victory, Phillips released his debut album, The World from the Side of the Moon, on November 19, 2012. This astonishing record was a huge hit, lasting 61 weeks on the prestigious Billboard Top 200 album chart. It also received the RIAA’s renowned Platinum rating.
Among the album’s significant singles were “Home” and “Gone, Gone, Gone.” Phillips continued to build a name for himself in the music industry with the release of his second album, Behind the Light, in 2014, which featured riveting singles like “Raging Fire” and “Unpack Your Heart.”
He released his third album, Collateral, in 2018, which includes the outstanding song “Miles.” Phillips recently released his fourth studio album, Drift Back, in June 2023, which includes the lovely track “Dancing with Your Shadows.”
Throughout his career, Phillips has shared the stage with prominent performers such as John Mayer, Gavin DeGraw, the Goo Goo Dolls, and even the great Bruce Springsteen.
