Peta Wilson Career

Prior to becoming an actress, Wilson had a stint in modeling, in Australia and Europe. In 1996, she thought of continuing with her studies at an acting school in New York City, but she decided to make her debut audition for a new television show, La Femme Nikita, which was based on the 1990 French action thriller movie of the same name, to be produced for the USA cable TV channel in North America.

From a field of over 200 aspiring actresses who all auditioned for the starring role, the producer for the new program, selected Wilson for the job and she agreed.

The series, being produced by a collaboration of Canadian and American companies, each episode ran for one hour on the USA network for five years with 96 episodes, 22 episodes per season for one year, and another 8 episodes in its fifth and final TV year.

Most of the episodes of the program were filmed in and around Toronto Ontario and her co-stars included the likes of Roy Dupuis, Don Francks Alberta Watson as well as Eugene Robert Glazer.

That particular role made her famous beyond her thoughts and although she never won, she was nominated twice for the annual Gemini Award for the Best Performance by An Actress in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role.

In 2001 Wilson participated in the International Film Festival in Moscow, where she met with the Russian president, Vladimir Putin. Following the next year, she portrayed a real-life actress movie, Joe and Max. She then starred as the vampire Mina Harker in the 2003 film, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

In 2006 she appeared in Two Twisted and made a small role as BobbieFaye, a spokeswoman for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration of the US, in Superman Returns. Other films that she has appeared in include Beautiful, CSI: Miami (2010), and The Finder(2012) both in which she guest-starred.

Wilson Launched with a flagship store in LA a lingerie label in 2012 which she named Wylie Wilson. Her role as CIA agent Marla Criswell in Liberator (2013) earned her the Best Actress Award at the Cinerockom International Film Festival.
