When the former Western Bulldogs player was given the Covid vaccination booster shot, he was battling the autoimmune condition myasthenia gravis’ and getting chemotherapy.
He had a poor reaction to the shot and later became gravely unwell on November 25 after contracting Covid.
“I had no symptoms and then bang,” Dimattina explained. “I reacted to the booster shot, but I now have Covid as well.” I’m putting everything I’ve got towards getting better.”

Doctors are treating Dimattina’s health as if he has cancer. He says the stress of managing enterprises and family life during the pandemic caused him to have a complete physical and mental collapse.
He has three school-aged children, and he expressed deep concern over their lack of education.
‘My kids are the major reason I’m so anxious and depressed,’ Dimattina explained.
Dimattina has been a strident critic of the Victorian government’s response to the pandemic, notably how companies have been forced to endure the astronomical costs of constant lockdowns.
He is the owner of the Lamaro’s Hotel in South Melbourne, and he was fined $10,000 in August for allegedly dealing after the Covid lockdown at 8 p.m. when he had a few pals inside having a drink.
Dimattina is a member of the Victorians Party, which plans to run against both major parties in the upcoming election.
The reality of the prolonged lockdowns, Dimattina claimed, caused him a lot of financial pain as a business owner and his employees, as he had to lay off some of them.
‘People will do everything to put food on the table so that you can pay your rent.’ ‘This could lead to criminality, drug sales, and prostitution for some,’ he warned.
