Steve and his father, Bill Belichick, are related by blood. He is the eldest son of the former head coach of the New England Patriots.

His father, William Stephen Belichick, born in Nashville, Tennessee, on April 16, 1952, got his start in 1975 when he accepted a position with the Baltimore Colts.

Father Steve, a football assistant coach at the United States Naval Academy, and mother Jeannette raised him in Annapolis, Maryland.

Bill played squash, joined the Chi Psi fraternity, and played tight end and center for the football team while attending Wesleyan. He also captained the lacrosse team.

His Father’s Decades-Long Coaching Career

When he left Wesleyan, Belichick accepted a $25 per week position as Ted Marchibroda’s assistant coach with the Baltimore Colts.

He started as the Detroit Lions’ assistant special teams coach in 1976 before training wide receivers, and tight ends the following year.

Belichick joined the New York Jets in 1997 as the team’s interim head coach before joining the Patriots in 1996 as assistant head coach and defensive backs coach. After Bill Parcells was elected head coach, Belichick took on the associate head coach and defensive coordinator roles.

The 35-year-old’s family got separated after his parents, father, Bill, and mother, Debby Clarke, parted ways. Clarke is the mother of his three children, two of whom are also employed with the New England Patriots.

She is a small business owner in Massachusetts who, following her divorce from Belichick, assisted in establishing a tile and stone business. Following Bill’s public involvement in a New Jersey divorce controversy, the ex-couple filed for divorce in 2006.

The New York Post reported that the Belichicks had been divorced after 28 years of marriage. Apparently, the pair split up around 2004.

Likewise, the pair co-founded a nonprofit company while they were still dating to “raise money for the homeless and destitute in Cleveland, OH, and Massachusetts.

After Divorce, Belichick Father Begun A Relationship With His Girlfriend Linda Holliday

Since his divorce from Debby, Belichick has remained a bachelor. He does, however, have a girlfriend who routinely publishes images of their outings together on social media. About a year after his divorce from Debby was finalized, Belichick began seeing Linda Holliday.

In 2007, Belichick and Holliday met in a Florida club and soon started dating. Holliday, a native of Jupiter, Florida, operated a clothes boutique called Blue Indigo Boutique before closing it in 2009.

She was formerly the CBS Boston television station’s lifestyle correspondent.

Early in 2014, there were rumors that the couple was engaged because Holliday was wearing a diamond on her left ring finger, but those rumors proved untrue.

Steve Belichick’s Two Additional Siblings: Amanda And Brian

The eldest son of General Manager of the New England Patriots, Bill Belichick, has two siblings who have chosen sports as their profession.

Brian, his younger brother, is a safety coach for the Patriots and a coaching staff member. He began working for the company in 2016 as a scouting assistant. From 2017 to 2019, he served as a coaching assistant until being given the position of safeties coach ahead of the 2020 season.

On June 26, 2021, Brian wed Catherine “Callie” D. McLaughlin in St. Mary’s Church on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts. The celebration followed at Sankaty Head Beach Club.

Belichick’s Wife Jennifer Schmitt Was A Former Lacrosse Player

Steve Belichick, a safeties coach with the New England Patriots and the eldest son of renowned coach Bill Belichick, is married to his wife, Jennifer.

As reported by the Boston Herald, Jennifer Schmitt wore a “couture original by Boston designer David Josef” when the couple got married in 2017 at the Siasconset Union Chapel.

According to her Facebook page, Jennifer Belichick attended Tufts University to study occupational therapy, attended Perry Hall High School, now resides in Boston, Massachusetts, and is originally from Baltimore, Maryland.

Additionally, Belichick “went Rutgers and played lacrosse,” per NBC Sports. She appears to be a runner in the pictures she’s shared on Instagram, which suggests that she has a background in sports.

She referred to one old lacrosse picture as “my glory days” and gave the name “Family” to a wedding shot with a lacrosse backdrop.

Steve Belichick Staggering Net Worth And Salary Amid Coaching Career

The head coach of the New England Patriots has worked hard to earn a sizable fortune as a result of his serious approach to his profession.

While some publications claim that Steve Belichick earns $5 million annually, it’s more likely that his father, Bill makes that amount given that the average assistant coach compensation in the NFL is now $400,000, up from $150,000 to $175,000 in the previous years.

While some sources estimate Steve Belichick’s net worth to be a whopping $20 million, if Yahoo’s average assistant NFL coach estimates are accurate (which seems more likely), then that of All Famous Birthdays’ $1.5 million estimate of Belichick’s son’s wealth.

His Father’s $60 Million Net Worth

His father, Bill, on the other hand, is worth $60 million. Although Bill’s contract terms are private, some inside reports suggest he is the NFL coach with the most significant salary under wraps.

The most extended contract in history was signed by Jon Gruden in 2019 and is worth $100 million over ten years, with an annual salary of $10 million before bonuses. Belichick is reportedly paid a basic salary of at least $12.5 million, according to ProFootballTalk.

His most recent contract was a 2007 extension agreement that kept him with the Patriots through 2013. Additionally, he reportedly signed an extension before 2013.

For $70,000, the Belichicks purchased two properties on Shell Street in Sconset, Massachusetts, where they later constructed three homes for themselves, Bill’s parents, and Debby’s parents.

Further, Debby received the Nantucket home, which they purchased for $4.6 million in 2006, as part of their divorce settlement. Bill created firms that paid $870,000 for a Shell Street property and $2.45 million for a nearby 2-bedroom house in 2014.
