After school officials alleged on April 24, 2012 that she had allowed her 5-year-old daughter Anna to bake in a tanning bed, Patricia Krentcil, a native of Nutley, New Jersey, was arrested and charged with second-degree child threat.
The controversy emerged when a school nurse noticed the accidents that Anna attributed to going tanning “with mommy,” The school approached children’s programmes promptly. Officials claimed that Krentcil took the kid into the tanning booth without the approval of the salon.
