Professional curlers make a lot less money than you might think. Furthermore, not every curler receives large, lucrative sponsorships.
Curlers may actually lose money after some events, or they may barely “profit” anything if they win.
The most difficult concept to grasp about competitive curling is that nearly all curlers work full-time and curl competitively on the side.
Unfortunately, competitive curling will never be able to attract the kind of lucrative sponsorships that other globally recognized sports have.
